I absolutely love the glitter rub ons we have. Here’s a little insider info (there are more coming in the new Spring book!) YAY! Here a project was born at 2:30 am when my roomie, Trudy and I were at a scrapbook retreat and were showing Glitter Rub Ons as a demo. We remembered a blue wine bottle sitting on the table. So, a covert operation was put into action and a super fab decoration for Christmas was born!
The rub ons are easy to use. For a tutorial watch the latest episode of Art and Soul on CTMH TV by clicking here
We also discovered that the Bonding Memories glue pen works well with the glitter sheets. When the glue is blue it is a bonding glue, when it dries it is clear adn can be repositionable. So, we used it on the bottle where the “W” didn’t adhere as well. We were able to fix it with the glue pen, by waiting for it to get tacky and then rub the silver glitter sheet over it.
Here we used a snowflake from Dimensional Elements Flurry as our decoration. To get the red background color we inked it with Tulip ink and then applied the glue. Once it was tacky, we applied the silver glitter sheet to it and rubbed it in. The finishing touch was a layer of liquid glass over the top. What a nice tag for a gift!
The best part of the glitter sheets is they don’t rub off everywhere and leave you with a mess. My customers have been quite happy with the results and are out hunting down blue bottles as we speak! Can you imagine the possibilities with any bottles, glass blocks or vases?
Here’s a tip when working with glass. Since it is a very smooth surface you may want to lightly sand the area before applying the adhesive rub on. If you find other helpful hints or need anything just email me. I would be happy to help you!
Until Then!
