What is the Best Adhesive for my Scrapbook or Paper Craft Project?

It is the age old question of scrapbookers and paper crafters every where. What is the best type of adhesive to use? When do I need a glue dot or a dot of liquid glass?

Well, here is what I found out when I took a FREE course through the CTMH Training Academy for consultants. I hope this helps you too!

Dotto Dots Dispenser– Removable so you can move pieces around and it’s refillable.

Tombow Mono– Permanent and refillable. Great for ribbons, fibers and patterned papers. Also great for photos.

Memory Book Glue Dots– Perfect for 3-D items like buttons, metal embellishments and paper flowers.. Although it is permanent, It is also pliable for a few weeks. Great for heavier textures like cardstock, chipboard, textured cardstock and photos.

Bonding Memories Glue Pen and Glue Stick- Goes on blue, but dries clear . Dries quickly and can be used as a temporary or permanent bond. The glue pen has a small tip applicator for tiny accents and spaces. I like it for the edges of any and all the My Creations™ projects. It works really well to keep your edges secured. The larger glue stick has a 1/2” wide applicator and is great for covering larger areas and on thicker paper.

Liquid Glass– Traditionally used for a glossy look over a stamped image, on a sticker or other surface this is also a great strong adhesive. It can be used to adhere buttons, ribbons and any 3D embellishments.  I have also known it to be used as a type of Mod Podge when used with a brush.  LG also works well with the clear Top Coats.

If your adhesive goes rogue on you, it’s good to have a Rub and Remove™ Eraser on hand.  It also works well for removing rub ons that go astray.

I always tell people to bring their favorite adhesive to workshops, now you can try a few different kinds and find out your favs too!

  1. Thanks so much for this! I've been looking to cheat on my good ole glue stick for something less messy and more precise. I may have to give those glue dots and LG a try after all. Thanks again!
