Hi! thanks for stopping by! My name is Sarita. Connecting people to each other and their creativity is something I am very passionate about. I find so much joy encouraging others to express themselves through hands-on projects. When I teach, I learn. So, nothing makes me happier than to have a group at My Cottage learning, creating and connecting. I especially love hosting small private gatherings and celebrations, including “Craft Happy” Birthday Parties for youth. No matter what event you attend at the cottage, I want you to leave inspired, refreshed and renewed!
A small family business, My Creative Cottage has been a studio classroom for over 15 years. When my husband was deployed to Iraq in 2004-2005 I took over his garage and turned it into my craft room. Thankfully he returned unharmed and together we turned it into my “Creative Cottage”.
When he returned a lot of adjustments had to be made as we found out our daughter had Autism Spectrum disorder. In home intensive therapy was the only treatment for her. So it made sense for me to leave my Preschool Director job and stay home.
I started teaching paper crafts and stamping and that led to the love of my Cricut and creating home decor and gifts. When our barn collapsed I used the wood to show others how to make barn wood signs. Recently I found Chalk Couture and I honestly can’t believe how quick and easy it is to use our screen printed transfers and chalk paste! I was sold immediately and I know you will be too! Check us out on Facebook and I hope to see you at a class or workshop soon!
Learning to “Bloom Where I am Planted!” and having my own business has made me a better mom, wife and creative force in the world. I love being an Independent Designer for Chalk Couture and have found it to be a great fit.
Thanks for stopping by to meet Sarita. I look forward to connecting with you. If you have any questions at all please fill out the contact form and I will get back to you. Have a great day!
