Autism Awareness Month

This month is important to those of us who have autistic children. Truly, if I hadn’t seen some of what I saw on TV last year about Autism I don’t know if I would have felt confident enough to fight for Sofie’s diagnosis so she could get the treatment she needs.
The last couple weeks have been rough. Sofie was declared disabled by the State and that is what needs to happen so she can get on the Medicaid long term support waiver. Which means she also will get on the waiting list for ABA therapy. So, we are grateful and a little sad. I guess that is normal. Then again, what is normal anymore!! LOL!!
Please keep these children in your thoughts and prayers.

  1. THANK you. I linked to you from Liane’s blog because I was intrigued, my name is Sarah, but my dh calls me Sarita, so I thought it was interesting that you have that name too… I too have a little man w/autism. Thanks for your post. 🙂 Glad to see you are a crafter too! 🙂 Thanks! I am enjoying stalking your blog 🙂
