Teacher Gift- Smore Theme and Buy 2 Get One FREE

6 / 28 / 128 / 10 / 15

Teacher Gifts With a S’More Theme-  ala CTMH, Cricut and Dollar Store

My daughter, Sofie had incredible teachers this past school year.  She has had Mrs. Agen for special supports since Kindergarten!  They want to provide her support in the classroom so she team taught with Mrs. Wagner.  I honestly cannot say enough about these ladies.

What do you say to people who genuinely love your child like family?  Who always look to her future with excitement and hope? Mrs. Agen has been an amazing support to me and always reminding me of all the things Sofie can do!!  Her relaxed and joyful nature has helped me become a better Mom and teacher myself!
So, I made a gift to express my appreciation.
I had so much fun making this gift. I saw different versions on Pinterest that I loved. I pinned several to my Gifty Goodness Board.  Then I decided to make one with my own twist.
I cut out the letters from our cruisin’ paper (the scrabble type stuff). It’s really fun for personalizing!

and then I used my most favorite alphabet set, Hodge Podge. Check out all of the letters you get! So easy to line ’em up on the block and go to town!
Just one of the versatile sets you can get for FREE with Stampaganza this month!

I made wraps for each item and attached a tag with coordinating papers.  On each item I wrote little sayings;
Graham cracker packs Thanks for “cracking” me up all the time and making school fun.

Marshmallows– For the times you were soft on me.

Chocolate– For being so sweet to me.

A roasting stick– For sticking with me and helping me stick with it!

Then I personalized each teachers good ol’ Dollar Store bucket with white vinyl.  (You can also use white contact paper).  Darn cellophane! I was in a bit of a time conundrum, (also known as procrastination) so I had to settle for these pics taken with my phone.

******Stampaganza is only through June 30th!! Be sure to visit my site and place your order!

CTMH April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop, “You Are”

4 / 1 / 128 / 10 / 15

This month’s stamp is so FUN, AMAZING and COOL!  It is named “You Are” and has 15 stamps for endless combinations of fun for scrapbooking, card making and paper playing!  There are about 50 consultants who have created art work for this hop. Enjoy yourself!  You are sure to be inspired!

If you came here from MICHELLE’S BLOG then you are the right path.

When I saw this set I thought of my 13 year old daughter, Savana.  She is all these things and more.  I know her 8th grade picture here is not her favorite, but I wanted to scrapbook it anyway.  She is having an amazing year and is touching lives along the way.

She is in a musical this weekend. When she was getting ready for the cast party last night she said, I just want all of this to slow down.  I want to remember this.  What a gift at age 13 to know life is short and every moment counts.  That was my inspiration for this layout.

I mixed Pemberly (blue flowered), Roxie (lighter red) and the printed word page from Lucy.  The color scheme is different, but look at her shirt.
I inked and stamped directly on the chipboard ( left my Cricut at work- oops! nuff said!)  I used the grey wool Baker’s Twine to add some texture and to anchor my button and chipboard piece that says AMAZING!  The button is from the Bohemian Collection

Inks Used:
Cranberry
Indian Corn Blue
Outdoor Denim

Now it’s on to TERESA’S BLOG.

CTMH March Stamp of the Month- Potential

3 / 1 / 128 / 10 / 15

Welcome to our CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  If you came here from
Leanne’s blog then you are on the right track!  This month’s set of 8 stamps, Potential is named perfectly.  There is so much you can do to accent your cards, layouts and home decor projects.

I wanted the image to be front and center.  I decided to make some simple 3×3 cards that I can use when I send out a quick note with a catalog or drop in a co-worker’s mailbox.  I am ready for spring so I chose this color palette.  To get this look I swiped the ink pad across the large circle stamp with Lagoon and Pear.  It gives it almost a watercolor look, with some marbling.

Now you are off to Debra’s Blog.  I  can’t wait to see what she and everyone else did with this set.  Don’t forget, you can only get this from March 1-31st. With a purchase of only $50 you can get this set for just $5!

A Priceless Valentine’s Day Gift!

2 / 21 / 122 / 12 / 18

A Way to Relieve the Stress of Handwritten Valentines For Special Needs Kids

Preface: You can use any clear stamps and inks.  Get Creative!!

Ask any parent who has a child with special needs how much anxiety can be surrounded around holidays.  While other children are receiving class lists and skipping off to address them all, I am left cringing at the thought of my child even attempting to do this.  She struggles with handwriting as do a lot of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

So, I was looking around my cottage at all of the craft supplies I had, I was still not excited to help her make Valentines. Until I spotted the CTMH Alphabet Stamps.  What if I loaded up the block the letters of each child’s name and she stamped it?  So, we gave it a try.

I wanted her to do as much as possible, so she read the letters of each child’s name off to me and I added them to the block.  Then she stamped on bookmarks.  The best part of the Hodge Podge set was that there were several of each letter, so we could spell Savannah, Jeremiah and more!

After she stamped this side, the second side was YOU ROCK with paint splatters.  Then we attached packets of Pop Rocks for the treat.

It took us 2 days with smaller blocks of time and breaks.  But it was SO worth it.  I have always dreamed of the day Sofie and I could craft together.  She felt so successful and proud.  It was hard not to tear up watching my child do something so simple.
So, if you have a child that struggles with handwriting for any reason, I think you should give stamping with CTMH stamps a try.
I will never give up on Sofie writing her name and any other words for that matter. But what a nice way to relieve us from the stress of another holiday.
Thanks for letting me share!
Until Next Time-
Be Blessed!

My One Word for the Year: Harmony

1 / 2 / 121 / 14 / 16

My word last year was EMBRACE.  All year long I held on to it. I lived it. I wanted to embrace the life I was given and stop fantasizing about one that I was supposed to have.  I embraced Sofie’s Autism. I decided we were not living with Autism. Autism was living with us.  Those were some huge steps that led me to greater awareness, self acceptance and love.  All from that one little word. So, now that 2012 has begun I need a word.  A word is much easier to focus on than a resolution. It is actually an un-resolution.  You can read more about that here on myoneword.org
So, now here I am with a great job, a desire to keep my CTMH business and creative endeavors growing, a husband who is around a lot more and a family who is thriving, not just surviving.  So, I immediately thought of balance. But I want more than things to be balanced. I want it all to work together for God’s greater plan.  So, I decided on
HARMONY.
I am a visual girl, so I needed something to look at and I found a couple things on Pinterest that I wanted to share.  Here is the what. What does harmony mean and how can I live my life to obtain it.  This is perfect.

I have to say though that my crafting is a HUGE part of this.  I LOVE that I am a consultant with CTMH. Today we got to see the NEW Spring/Summer Idea Book online and it is amazing! I am absolutely NOT giving up my 22% discount. PLUS we earn select product credit based on our sales.  With LOW quarterly minimums I am not worried about keeping it!  I can’t WAIT to work with NEW product.  I will be hosting a crop in February to launch the new book. You won’t want to miss it!

So, this is my goal. To find harmony in my life between my full time job, my family and friends and of course all of my creative adventures.  (I realize now that is more important than ever!) Have you thought of your word for this year?  If you have, I would love
for you to share it by leaving a comment!

Happy Crafting and Happy New Year!
