January Blog Hop- True Friends Mini Album/Card

1 / 1 / 10

Wow! Here we are at the start of a new year! So much to look forward to especially this awesome blog hop with almost 60 consultants showing off their talent.  This month’s stamp, True Friends has some wonderful hearfelt sentiments as well as artistic flair with fun frames and swooshy designs that can make beautiful borders and more.  This set of 11 is sure to be one that is used again and again.

If you came here from Jody’s blog you are on the right track. When you are done here be sure to keep hoppin’ on!

I chose to make a card that also doubles as a mini album.
Materials Used
Felicity Paper Pack- National Papercrafting Month Promo
Top Coats transparercies
Pretty Pins
Chocolate ribbon round
 Instructions:
I started with a 4″ x 12″ piece of colonial white card stock and score it every 4 inches.  From there I decorated it with the fun polka dots paper from Felicity and added a top coat cover. I love the added touch of the bitty sparkles and copper bitty brads on top for a fabulous finishing touch.

The center page holds a frame with a top coat in the center. The frame is tacked down with colonial white brads so a picture can easily be slid underneath.

Feel free to click on the photos for a larger view.

I hope you are inspired to celebrate the relationships in your life with this fabulous set!  You can get it for free or at a substantial discount with a qualifying order. Click here to learn more.

Now you are ready to see more spectacular creations so hop on to Laurie’s blog and enjoy!

My sincerest wishes for a blessed new year!

Fun and Easy Treat Boxes For Christmas

12 / 18 / 09

These are so fun and easy to make! Wait! Did I already say that? If you need a last minute box for cookies, candy or other goodies then try this! I am filling these up with my uber famous Snowball cookies. I chose these not only because they are delish, they also go with my whole snow theme.

Materials Used:
Jingle Lv 2 Paper Pack
Just for the Holidays Stamp Set
Snow Flurries Stamp Set- (used for random stamping my card stock)
Christmas Cricut Cartridge ( snowflake shapes)
Snowman cutout from Coluzzle (I am not going down without a fight! I still LOVE my Coluzzle!) nuf said! You could also cut out any shape for the middle. If you need a shape, trace a cookie cutter!
Transparency or cellophane to cover your “window”

Instructions:

Step 1: Score a 12 x12 piece of cardstock every 2 3/4″. You will have a small piece left. That will be used to adhere your box.

Step 2: Then you will turn the paper and score 2 3/4″ from the bottom.

Step 3: Cut bottom flaps up to that score mark.

Step 4:  Fold the cardstock on the score marks to make a box shape. Fold in bottom flaps for box bottom.

Options: You can make a box lid or just fold sides in wrap with a ribbon. I attached a snowflake too!

Lid: Piece of paper or cardstock cut 6″ by 12″. Score every 2 7/8″ and proceed just like you did with the box.

Then embellish as desired and fill it up with goodies! These make great gifts for just about anybody at any time of the year! These are going to Sofie’s teachers and aides at school.  I better get crackin’. She has quite the team of peeps that keep her going or wait, she keeps them going actually. Either way…..

Blessings–

Snow Day! Mom I ‘m Bored or Hungry…..

12 / 9 / 09

So, yes the day has been turned upside down by a HUGE snowfall!  Now that all the shrieking with joy and jubilation,”SNOW DAY! SNOW DAY!” has turned to, “Mom, I’m bored.” “Mom, I’m hungry!”  I was relieved to find this list at Skip to my Lou blog!  Click here for tons of great ideas for a Snow Day!

I gotta run! Now it’s “Mom, something is burning!” yelled by my Jr. Chef.

Have a good one!

Glitter Rub Ons Wine Bottle Decoration

12 / 4 / 09

I absolutely love the glitter rub ons we have.   Here’s a little insider info (there are more coming in the new Spring book!) YAY!  Here a project was born at 2:30 am when my roomie, Trudy and I were at a scrapbook retreat and were showing Glitter Rub Ons as a demo.  We remembered a blue wine bottle sitting on the table. So, a covert operation was put into action and a super fab decoration for Christmas was born!

The rub ons are easy to use.  For a tutorial watch the latest episode of Art and Soul on CTMH TV by clicking here

We also discovered that the Bonding Memories glue pen works well with the glitter sheets.  When the glue is blue it is a bonding glue, when it dries it is clear adn can be repositionable.   So, we used it on the bottle where the “W” didn’t adhere as well. We were able to fix it with the glue pen, by waiting for it to get tacky and then rub the silver glitter sheet over it.
Here we used a snowflake from Dimensional Elements Flurry as our decoration. To get the red background color we inked it with Tulip ink and then applied the glue.  Once it was tacky, we applied the silver glitter sheet to it and rubbed it in.  The finishing touch was a layer of liquid glass over the top. What a nice tag for a gift!
The best part of the glitter sheets is they don’t rub off everywhere and leave you with a mess. My customers have been quite happy with the results and are out hunting down blue bottles as we speak!  Can you imagine the possibilities with any bottles, glass blocks or vases?
Here’s a tip when working with glass.  Since it is a very smooth surface you may want to lightly sand the area before applying the adhesive rub on.  If you find other helpful hints or need anything just email me. I would be happy to help you!
Until Then!
Blessings-

Sweet Home Kit of the Month

11 / 10 / 09

My Tuesday Creative Escape Club will be making these fancy layouts on Nov. 17th.  I love the use of Top Coats as a photo frame and as a border behind a photograph. I hate to admit, it but this was my least favorite paper pack in the new book. Now that I have worked with it, I have had a complete change of heart. That is why I LOVE the workshop kits each month.  The different products and techniques force me out of my comfort zone.  The crazy part is I had the perfect family photos to go with the color combination.

Did you know you can also make 6 cards in addition to the layouts?  Here I switched up the stamp set and used Snow Flurries to make a holiday card as well.

It is not too late to get your kit today!  Click here and have it delivered right to your door! It will be here just in time for your special family moments!

Blessings-
Sarita
