Visit from the Leprachaun! Are you Lucky?

3 / 17 / 10

This is such a simple and fun thing to do for your family on St. Patty’s day.  Sofie woke up today and is convinced that a leprachaun is going to visit her school today.  So, I asked her if she thought one would visit us at home.  She said yes! So, I had to come up with something fun and festive!

I remembered doing this when I taught preschool. Well actually “the leprechaun” also colored our milk greeen! Unfortunately, this also caused some little ones to have nightmares that little leprachauns were going to come into the house and get them.  Isn’t there a move like that? I digress….

Anyway, this is fun and yummy!  Get a container of Cool Whip and turn it over.  Cut a small hole or slit in the bottom. Then, squeeze some green food coloring into it.  Seal the bottom with tape so it doesn’t leak out. When it comes time to serve it up with your greeen jello or what not, you stir the Cool Whip (or even better let the kiddos) and it magically turns green! Watch the amazement in your children’s eyes (and probably your husband’s) and be on the lookout for leprechauns and hopefully not any nightmares.* wink.

Best of Luck to You!
Sarita

P.S. “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” So many people tell me how lucky I am to make money doing something I love to do AND being my own boss.  Is it luck? Is it being in the right place at the right time?  I don’t know, but I do know that you could be lucky too!
I have a great opportunity for you! Click here to learn more

Studio J is Coming this Spring- scrapbooking for everyone!

3 / 8 / 10

I had such a blast doing the Waterford Home and Commerce Show this past weekend.  I LOVE meeting new scrappers and stampers.  Their faces light up when they see the artwork and there is almost a certain crafters glow.

Well, when I showed them the possibilities of Studio J the  glow was accompanied by amazement and happiness. I think for the people who don’t have the time but would love to scrapbook this is almost a relief for them.  They think, I can do that.  Let me tell you, you most definitely can!

It is so simple, affordable and FUN!  All you do is:

  1. Upload the photos you want to use.
  2. Pick a pattern for your layout. ( I have always loved this pattern in Cherish but was too lazy to use it)
  3. Pick a paper kit ( I was convinced I was going to use Silhouette for this with her black dress, but low and behold Notebook was even better!)
  4. Drop and drag your photos into the photo wells
  5. Embellish with coordinating My Stickease, ribbons, metals, buttons etc… You can even color them to match your paper.  Here I colored an edge anchor holly hock.  We don’t even have those in our classic scrapbooking product lines.
(click on this picture for a larger view)

Now all I do is wait for these gorgeous layouts printed on 100 year archival quality paper to be delivered to my home.  Upon arrival I will slide it into a page protector right next to my classic scrapbook layouts.

That is the beauty of it all! I don’t have to choose between being a classic scrapbooker or a Studio Scrapbooker. I can do both and with the same gorgeous color palette you can’t go wrong.  Your layouts can live happily ever after in the same scrapbook.  {Protected and preserved for years and generations to come!}

Sunshine Card- State of Mind

3 / 7 / 10

I LOVE this stamp set, State of Mind.  After all, it is all about our state of mind.  It’s amazing to me how the arrival of extended sunshine and warmer weather can change the state of a state here in Wisconsin. Everyone lingers a little little longer outside and you might even see your neighbors.

I am like them and need to see the sun too. So, in celebration of spring being on it’s way I made this super simple card. I grabbed some scraps from my Caboodle kit and used strips for my background.  I hope you like it!

Blessings-

Feb Stamp of the Month Blog Hop- Piece of Cake

2 / 1 / 10

Welcome to this month’s blog hop using this month’s Stamp of the Month, Piece of Cake.  If you came here from Mary’s blog you are on the right path.
There are over 70 talented artists showing off their stuff, so grab something to drink and get comfortable.
I have a lot of customers who do not want to color in images, so I chose to do a  less is more concept.  Using the White Daisy Pigment ink I stamped on black cardstock and embellished with
Perfect Day paper and a splash of hollyhock.

On the card on the left I made the polka dots pop with clear embossing powder.  I dotted over them with our embossing pen. Talk about a piece of cake, this technique is sweet!!
Thanks for stopping by!  Now be sure to keep moving on to see all the other great ideas and inspiration.  Next stop, Cibele’s Blog.
Here’s a little bonus.  I made fun little bag toppers for Valentine treats.
Blessings-
Sarita

The Little Things…

1 / 28 / 10

The little things don’t mean a lot, they mean everything. I heard that on the radio yesterday.  It was in regard to Haiti and what people can do to help.  It also made me think about little things I could do or have been done that have made me feel good.

A great example is this super cute cookie I received recently at the Power Luncheon for the Chamber of Commerce.  I am entering my first year as a director on the board and I was welcomed with a cookie.

Isn’t it the cutest?  If you look close enough you can see it is a suit case, as the person who gave it to me owns a travel agency.  She had them made at a local bakery in town, Slice.  Slice has been getting alot of buzz lately in my circles. You should check them out too. Sofie spent some tooth fairy money there and got cookies for all of us. Delicious!
So, back to little things, I made nugget tents for my open house attendees.  They loved them and plan on making them too.I got this awesome idea from Melissa.  She is so creative and always willing to share.
This is the card that my customers made. They really fell in love with the Togetherness set You can find it on pg. 15 of the Spring Idea Book.

So, it doesn’t always have to break the bank to be special or make someone feel appreciated.  I hope you are thinking of all the little things you can do for your loved ones, co-workers or maybe a stranger.   My little thing for today was leaving my quarter in the cart at Aldi. I am thinking it put a smile on someone’s face.  I challenge you to do little things too and then come back and post it in the comments section

Until Then-
Sarita

Friend and Hello Card with Felicity and True Friends

1 / 21 / 10

Okay, I feel like I need to send you all a shout out. It’s been 2 weeks since I posted. Hubby was gone for military training and I was a bit busy managing the house, Sofie’s therapy and now Savana has a major role in a musical which means the taxi light is on again! Now that I have a minute to breath I can show you what I have been up to behind the scenes. That is the beauty of being my own boss. I can work at whatever level I need to as circumstances change and shift.
I LOVE this stamp set from the Felicity Collection, our National Papercrafting Promotion.  I think it is gorgeous with the included papers as well as a GREAT addition to my stamp library.  This set includes a full alphabet set as well as beautiful design elements like the flourish whih can double as a flower stem or tree branch. Yet, stands well on it’s own.  Here I paired it up with the gorgeous Veranda Creative Basics.
I couldn’t resist using the little birdie for a great accent, again used the flourish and as you see it pairs well with True Friends, the January Stamp of the Month.
These stamp sets are only available through Jan. 31 so get yours today! Shop my site and have it delivered right to your door!
