4 / 30 / 10

I love this scrapbooking kit’s neutral pallette. Here I added barn red ink on the irresistables to bring out the color of the swing and the boy’s clothes.
Here it is with the flip flaps open
I LOVE the way the second layout turned out. I added purple pansy and outdoor denim to accent.

Studio J Layout

4 / 27 / 10

I absolutely LOVE this layout.  It might be my hubby in his uniform or just the special moment between he and Sofie.  I also love the techniques I used to make it mine.

* Changed picture to Sepia tone to add depth and richness to the photo.
* Added a text box over the photo to add some journaling.
* Used a My Stickease to cover a blank spot at the end of my journaling.

(Click on photo for a larger view)

I can’t wait to get this ordered and into my scrapbook.  Want to make your own? Click here to get started
Happy Scrapping!

Blessed Mini Album- CTMH Veranda

4 / 12 / 10

I made this album using our flips flaps from Close to my Heart. I used the Veranda Creative Basics Paper and a pack of Veranda My Stickease.   This was inspired by another CTMH consultant.  I switched it up a tad because I added an extra flip flap for protection on the cover.
It would make a great brag book or Mother’s Day album.

We will be making this book tomorrow night at My Creative Cottage.  There is still time so, let me know and you can join us.  This is also a great bonus project with your leftovers from Veranda Workshop on the Go.

See you soon-
Sarita

April Stamp of the Month- Flower Pot Blog Hop

4 / 1 / 10

April is here and we are being showered with flowers! If you came here from Kathleen’s Blog for the April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop you are in the right place.
Just when I am itching to see my tulips and lilacs, along comes this fresh and springy stamp!  It’s a set of 16 that is complete with a window and flower box. That is right up my alley.
Plus, the adorable sentiments that you can’t resist.
What a great way to say thank you or just let someone know you are thinking of them.
This is not your typical card.  This is a “super card” that has a drawer perfect for little trinkets and such.
{The directions for the box can be found on Deneen Treble’s blog.}
Here I used the left over Spring Just Blooms from my Veranda Workshop Kit .I used Liquid Glass to attach the flowers to push pins to make a little gifty.  They fit in the box perfectly.
To color in the stamp I used watercolor pencils and a blending pen. I trimmed small pieces of chocolate cardstock to add the window pane.
If you notice, there is a little bee floating around from the incentive set, Bee Mine.
Bitty Brads finish off the shutters. To make them flat to look like nails,  just tap them with a craft hammer.
Don’t forget, to add this to your order this month at a discount or for FREE!
Now keep hopping over to Antoinette’s Blog to see her wonderful creation!
Blessings-
Sarita

He is Risen Easter Card & Cuttlebug

3 / 30 / 10

This is a card that we made at last week’s class.  I love the purity and crispness of the white on white.  I used my most favorite stamp set, Beloved.  I adore the beautiful flourished cross. I used the butterfly from the Spring Just Blooms Paper Flowers.  By simply sponging it with Smokey Plum, I was able to transform it into a royal butterfly.  Which was my goal with this card- purity and royalty.  I hope you enjoy.
Blessings for a peaceful and reflective Holy Week-
Sarita

What is the Best Adhesive for my Scrapbook or Paper Craft Project?

3 / 26 / 10

It is the age old question of scrapbookers and paper crafters every where. What is the best type of adhesive to use? When do I need a glue dot or a dot of liquid glass?

Well, here is what I found out when I took a FREE course through the CTMH Training Academy for consultants. I hope this helps you too!

Dotto Dots Dispenser– Removable so you can move pieces around and it’s refillable.

Tombow Mono– Permanent and refillable. Great for ribbons, fibers and patterned papers. Also great for photos.

Memory Book Glue Dots– Perfect for 3-D items like buttons, metal embellishments and paper flowers.. Although it is permanent, It is also pliable for a few weeks. Great for heavier textures like cardstock, chipboard, textured cardstock and photos.

Bonding Memories Glue Pen and Glue Stick- Goes on blue, but dries clear . Dries quickly and can be used as a temporary or permanent bond. The glue pen has a small tip applicator for tiny accents and spaces. I like it for the edges of any and all the My Creations™ projects. It works really well to keep your edges secured. The larger glue stick has a 1/2” wide applicator and is great for covering larger areas and on thicker paper.

Liquid Glass– Traditionally used for a glossy look over a stamped image, on a sticker or other surface this is also a great strong adhesive. It can be used to adhere buttons, ribbons and any 3D embellishments.  I have also known it to be used as a type of Mod Podge when used with a brush.  LG also works well with the clear Top Coats.

If your adhesive goes rogue on you, it’s good to have a Rub and Remove™ Eraser on hand.  It also works well for removing rub ons that go astray.

I always tell people to bring their favorite adhesive to workshops, now you can try a few different kinds and find out your favs too!
