CTMH Sophia Easter Layout with Kraft Cardstock

3 / 30 / 111 / 15 / 16

(Click for a closer look)

I LOVE our new Kraft cardstock! It is so fun to mix it up with this fabulous neutral.  Here I used Sophia, but I was determined NOT to use pink.  So, I used the pear cardstock in the Sophia kit and added lagoon mini medley accents along with the goldrush side of the paper.  I think it picked up the colors in the photos beautifully. I also used our awesome eclectic alphabet for the title.

Z1395 Irresistibles™ Eclectic Chipboard Die-Cuts
I simply inked it in Lagoon to add that pop of accent color.  Isn’t it awesome how the pattern shows through?

Oh and journaling was a cinch with our new Z1357 Sophia Level 2 Journaling Spots. I cut one in half and used it for the title background and the journaling on the right side.

Thanks for stopping by!

Wedding Album in Studio J Digital Scrapbooking

3 / 16 / 118 / 25 / 15

I love living in a small town and working with other small businesses.  I met Kathy Kohl of
KK Photography in Wind Lake a few years ago.  We always wanted to exlpore how we could partner up with photography and scrapbooking. Then Studio J presented itself .  Now we have a match made in heaven.  Wedding heaven to be exact.

Here is a sample album I made for her.  She gave me the most incredible photos to work with. I used several different paper packs, changed colors of papers and flipped around layouts.  With the ability to do all of those things I was able to create cohesion in the book. It is a very simple book that really showcases the photos and tells a story of their day.

Thanks for looking!  Want to try this yourself.  Head over to Studio J right now and start playing with your own photos for free!  If you have any questions, I am always happy to help.

Got Photos?

3 / 14 / 11

We had a blast this weekend meeting new people and seeing long time customers and friends. This show to me is the first sign of spring. It is always nice to see everyone out and about.  It is such a well attended event and my kids had a blast.  In case you missed us, here is what our booth looked like.  While you drool over the adorable table skirts, just know all credit goes to Trudy!  She is SO talented!
We also made our shirts. It was fun to have a litle conversation starter.

Class sign up sheets. Can’t wait to see new friends at our tile class
Again, I DID NOT make these.  Trudy is a material goddess!
( Disclaimer: Blue curtains are not our choice)
Fun feather pens- courtesy of Trudy. See why it’s a good idea to have a business partner? I could NEVER do all of this by myself!  Thanks to everyone who entered to win the album.
Debbie Mohr of Curves, won. I can’t wait to call her later today!
I had to sneak over to KK Photography and drool. I could only dream of taking pictures as good as hers.
So fun that she had my sample wedding album out. All done in Studio J.  I can’t wait to start making them for her clients!
So, all in all you can see we had a great time.  Thanks to everyone who stopped and said hi. Those who ran away as soon as we said the word “SCRAPBOOKING” we’ll get you eventually! LOL!
See you next time!

Live Today Scrapboook Layout

3 / 2 / 118 / 25 / 15

It is so fun to explore new paper packs. That is why I love our Workshops on the Go.  I am always forced out of my comfort zone.  I have 2 girls so why would I scrapbook with a paper pack that so screams masculine?  I am so glad I did! I found the perfect pictures of them at a Kid’s Zone event a few years ago and a little bit of perspective.

Yes, I too am not caught up on my scrapbooks! (GASP!!)

Live Today Scrapbook Layout

For a long time it has been very painful to look at these pictures. There is Sofie, a capable, inquisitive, curious little girl who about a year later was diagnosed with Autism.  It is here that all I can see is that  Autism stole my little girl.
But I am forced to look beyond that as I read the title of the layout, Live Today. That is all any of us can do. It doesn’t pay to look back and long for yesterday.  Scrapbooking has helped me freeze THAT moment in time and appreciate it for what it was. A day out with my girls.  I wish I could remember what that felt like so I could write about it.  Trying to make that up now, with the barrage of feelings I have on a daily basis is a challenge.  That is why journaling is so important.
The here and now, the today.
So, the name of the paper pack is quite fitting, Lucky. I feel lucky that I had to search for those photos and was given the ability to embrace that time instead of mourn it.

Here are two of the cards I created following the pattern provided in the kit.

CTMH March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop- Sensational Seasons-Easter Card and Gift Bag

3 / 1 / 11

March is coming in like a lamb here, but all I see are these adorable bunnies in the Sensational Seasons stamp set for March. If you have come here from my friend, Sheila’s blog, then you are on the right path, or bunny trail * wink.  She is one of almost 60 talented consultants participating in this hop.

When I first saw this stamp set, my first instinct was to run… I mean random stamp.

Papers Used: X7132B Bliss, X7131B Sophia, X7135B Wings
Colors: Grey Wool, Grey Flannel, Cotton Candy, Sweet Leaf
Techniques: Used Staz On to stamp Happy on Button. Used 2″ scallop punch and 1 1/4″ punch to make layered border.
Additional Stamp Sets Used: Tag the Occasion ( Happy) and A Little Everything (Easter)

Here I used the same paper packs and paper pieced Mama bunny. To color her in I used our
Watercolor pencils and the blending pen.

Thanks for hopping by.  Keep going on to Doreen’s Blog to see what adorable project she came up with.

Don’t forget to add the March Stamp of the Month to your monthly club or party order.  You will also only be a few dollars away from getting a FREE Acrylic Block. Read details here.

When I first saw this stamp set, my first instinct was to run… I mean random stamp. I stamped the background with second generation which is why the rabbit is so light but then front and center when stamped darker.

The added scallops almost make me think the bunny dress continues on. Plus they give it a very frilly and fun look. I stamped the word “happy” directly on to the button with archival black ink.

February in Review

2 / 25 / 118 / 25 / 15

So, it has been crazy around here and if a picture speaks a thousand words then let’s go!

We spent Valentine’s weekend at an Army NG function. It was really fun and great to catch up with old friends.  I got to wear my Molly Pitcher Award, most likely my last since he is retiring this year- a little bittersweet.

Valentine Flowers- he knows I like flowers that last. I got to put them into my $2 vase from the thrift store. I love that thing plus it has matching glasses.

Tuesday Feb. 15- Dad was on project Mars. Sofie did such a nice job.  Scott drew the aliens free-hand. I was pretty impressed.  This same night I was teaching my Wings workshop.

Wed. Feb. 16- Regional Spelling Bee. We traveled about an hour away to Milton to watch Savana participate.  She came in 12 out of 44. We are so proud of her! What a fun experience!!

THEN it was my retreat weekend.  We had a blast!  Here are a couple pics with more to come in a later post.

The same weekend Savana was a Bird Girl in Suessical the Musical at the high school.

I am already working on my Studio J layouts for these pics and many more.  Got slammed with the flu all week. Today is the first day I am up- barely.  I hope you all are having a swell week.  Here’s to the weekend.

Blessings-
Sarita

A Sweetheart of a Workshop from CTMH

2 / 10 / 112 / 2 / 16

It has been bitterly cold this past week, so I have been FORCED to craft in my cozy cottage.  Well, what’s a girl to do right? So, I made the best of my time and had a blast working with our new Sweetheart papers.  This month we are completing this workshop on two dates and times.
Thurs. Feb. 24      10:00 am
         Friday Feb. 25      6:00-9:00 pm
If you are interested in attending the workshop or would like to order one, please contact me.

At this class you will learn how to use liquid applique for dimension and pop to your embellishments on your cards as well.

You also will get a whole pack of my favorite Sweetheart Lv. 2 black epoxy stickers. You get an assortment of 32 in a variety of shapes and sizes.

We will also complete this layout
Of course there are lots of extra supplies left for bonus projects.  I made a love note container that would be perfect for anytime. I know my girls would love to find a secret note just for them.  When you attend the workshop, I can provide the directions for this project too.
