Pretty Peas take a look?

4 / 13 / 09

This card just cracks me up. It brings me joy and a whole new way to demonstrate the April Stamp of the Month- World’s Best Dad. I was so proud when my customer and friend, Jen took a gander a this stamp and said “look the boat could be a pea pod!” What a proud moment as I know that out of the box thinking was developed by CTMH. She was reminding me how we turned a vase into a whale with the set, “With Love”.
Then of course I was making this card when another good friend of mine, Trudy was over. So we came up with a whole list of other cards you could make:
  • Pretty Peas? ( of course peas would need bows and bling)
  • Peas don’t go
  • Peas out! ( with peas falling out of the pod of course)
  • Peas on Earth

You get the picture! and yes we were practically “peaing” our pants from laughing so hard! LOL!

So, born of Jen’s creative thinking here is a cute card with so much potential! We are making this card at our April class on the 28th.
Leave a comment if you have more pea ideas- I am sure you do!
Until Then-
Peas out!

Taking a Breather…We Started Intensive In-Home Therapy!!

4 / 4 / 091 / 15 / 16

I have about 2 minutes to take a breath here so I can write. We started in home intensive therapy with Sofie this month. Now I know why they call it intensive! It is definitely crazy when you have at least 2-3 people here working with her. Right now the line therapists are getting trained by the senior so that is why it is a bit crazy. Starting next week it should calm a bit with only one person here with her. I AM NOT COMPLAINING. I actually feel guilty that my child gets these amazing services. EVERY child who has autism should have this opportunity. It is just not fair!

She is making progress already. She is talking SO much more. So, I know this is the right road for her. They have about 13 programs going right now. It is so interesting how it is all coming together.

Again, if I didn’t work from home, I don’t know how I would manage all of this. Thank God for this awesome opportunity Close to my Heart affords me.

Blessings-

Butterfly Wings

3 / 5 / 09

It is so appropriate that butterflies are on our Stamp of the Month for March. I often call Sofie my little butterfly because she flits around all the time. Here is a card I made for my club on Sunday. Enjoy!

WOW! It Happened!

3 / 5 / 09

Today is the day I have waited for, fought for and prayed for over the last 2 years. Sofie’s slot opened up for the in home intensive therapy. Last Thursday her case worker came out and did a re-eligilbility exam. So, I finally got word today that the therapy can begin! The psychologist and therapist will come tomorrow to get the ball rolling! This means a team of therapists will be in our home 35 hours a week! I have no idea how this is all going to work out. All I do know is THANK GOD I work from home! I can’t imagine trying to manage this and a full time job. This is all just meant to be!

YAY!

My Girls Scrapbook Layout

1 / 6 / 09

WOW! I came across this picture from when Sofie was a baby. It has taken me a long time to scrapbook this. The Key to my Heart special could not have been MORE perfect!
I love this layout, but it saddens me as I look at Sofie then and she was so full of life, making eye contact. She looked like a perfectly developing baby. What happened? Autism really does steal you child. Then you get back a shell of them. And you work SO hard to get them to do anything! She has come so far but yet consistently remains 2 1/2 years behind. It is so frustrating. I am glad I captured this moment. I guess it doesn’t pay to look back. So, I’ll keep pluggin’ ahead!
