A Few Pictures of My Creative Cottage

4 / 13 / 08

I have been rearranging things and adding things. We have done some redecorating inside which means more fun pieces for my shack! Check it out!

My brother-in-law and his wife are due to have a baby any day now! WHOO HOOO! So they were making room and gave us a computer amoire and a dining room table. So, I turned the amoire into one stop storage for all my paper, inks etc…

I am going to paint it white and my mom is painting flowers on it. I can’t wait. But for now, that is what it looks like. I love it! Very functional! I am going to paint the table white too and add a decorative touch as soon as it arrives here. Right now I only have the legs. There wasn’t enough room in the van!
IT looks like this summer is finally when we are going to take the garage door off and put up a wall with windows in it’s place- YAY!!! It will help with temperature control. I can’t wait. Then it will look a lot more “cottagey” if that’s a word! LOL!! Plus, I will like being able to see the house etc…
Thanks for looking!

Autism Awareness Month

4 / 4 / 08

This month is important to those of us who have autistic children. Truly, if I hadn’t seen some of what I saw on TV last year about Autism I don’t know if I would have felt confident enough to fight for Sofie’s diagnosis so she could get the treatment she needs.
The last couple weeks have been rough. Sofie was declared disabled by the State and that is what needs to happen so she can get on the Medicaid long term support waiver. Which means she also will get on the waiting list for ABA therapy. So, we are grateful and a little sad. I guess that is normal. Then again, what is normal anymore!! LOL!!
Please keep these children in your thoughts and prayers.

Feeling Creative

2 / 12 / 08

WOW! It has been awhile! With all the snow and cold it has been hard to get out my cottage. Plus, I have been SO uninspired. ME! Not inspired. those who know me, know that is odd! LOL!! So, I cleaned all weekend and did laundry- Scott was gone w/Army. Which meant on Monday I had time to get out there and work. I made cards for my 3/$5 class. I really was happy with them. I love the “Lovely Lace” stamp and stamping on the Big Pinks.
The good news is I posted my class and have 2 people signed up. Whoo Hoo!! I need to be working or I will go BONKERS!!!! I can’t wait for SPRING!!!!

What I SHOULD be DOING!!

1 / 21 / 08

Okay- so I am having a HARD time concentrating today.I am SO bummed my beloved Packers lost yesterday. Savana wore all black to school today because she said it feels like a funeral. It will take a few days to get over this. Now, all I can say is GO GIANTS and kill the Patriots. Nobody is PERFECT!! LOL!!!

It was a good run that’s for sure! There is NOTHING like being a Packer Fan in the post season. I left my camera at my Mom’s house. The girls looked so cute and had so much fun! I will post pics later. All those emotions have left me exhausted!

Now, back to what I should be doing- paperwork and TAX prep! Not to mention that I need to get my newsletter out. It’s SO COLD today! I had to take my van in for a new fuel filter. I am glad that is all that it was. IT is snowing and FREEZING today. Thankfully they were able to drive me home and pick me up when it was ready. You gotta LOVE that kind of service!

Jan 7-11 So MUCH FUN!!!!

1 / 21 / 08

Okay, so I spent this whole week getting ready for my Open House/Customer Appreciation. I cleaned my cottage and created. I call that a perfect week!

My event was SO fun! We made a cute tag project with our Serendipity promo and they LOVED it! Guess who ran my Make & Take station? Savana- she is my little protege! When I say I am building my business right along my family I really mean it. She is requesting an apron now. I wish I had a video of her. She did an amazing job and every person there ordered the kit! It was a hit! We had so much fun!

Another HUGE hit was our Silhouette paper line & Creative Basics. Samples above I used our Feb. SOM- Endless Love. So pretty! It was so nice chatting and catching up with everyone!

Happy (Late) New Year!

1 / 21 / 08

Oh Boy! I am the worst blogger! Actually if I could telepathically send my thoughts to the computer it would be FAB! I often think about what I will put on my blog for the day, but then I never actually sit down and do it!

Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I brought 2008 in with a SUPER jacked up shoulder/neck. The question “how did you do that?” can only be answered with “I don’t know” I think I moved funny when I wrestled the dog ( I mean PUPPY) yeah right! ( vet says he will grow to about 85 pounds!)HA!) Anyway, so I layed in bed New Year’s Day and watched the ENTIRE last season of “One Tree Hill”. In between resting, icing and 2- a days to the chiropractor I watched A LOT of HGTV. Anyone who really knows me, knows I HATE to be down for long. But if I have to be give me a notebook and I will sit and plan my whole year out. I was SO frustrated because I had so much to do and after all it was the new year.

I love this line I heard the other day:

WANT TO MAKE GOD LAUGH? MAKE PLANS!!!

so instead of going to the gym, scrapbooking, cleaning my Creative Cottage etc… I became obsessed with color choices, fabric, paint and I think I had one dose too many of “Designed to Sell”. We have a really big bedroom so I said to my hubby, why don’t we build a walk in closet? Much to my dismay he agreed!! So, we unloaded clothes everywhere and started the demolition.
Pictures to follow… I left my camera at my Mom’s house last night- UGH!!!

The Santa Conversation

12 / 18 / 07

Oh BOY! It is tough when they start to ask questions or hint around. My 9 yr old Savana, is trying hard to believe, but all the “street smart” kids in her class are trying to ruin that. Poor girl.

Conversation:

Savana: Mom, ya know what sucks?

Mom: Uh, besides your language….. I don’tknow.

Savana:Oh, ya know what stinks?

Savana: 2 kids in my class don’t believe in Santa

Mom: That’s sad. I guess they won’t get any presents from him then.

Savana: Yeah, I am going to beleive in him until I am 32.

Mom: Well I am 36 and I still believe……

Thank God!

Ice and Snow Oh My!!

12 / 12 / 07

WOW! What a start to the week! I was able to hold my class on Monday during the day which I enjoyed very much! We made a Winter themed Scrapbook In a Box. I wasn’t able to get a really good picture. But this is what I did get. I LOVE Prisma Glitter!!! I ran my stamped snowflake image through my Xyron- with the adhesive on the front. SO COOL! I am sure I am the last known stamper on earth to use Prisma Glitter! LOL! But now I can’t stop!!!! BUT! I have to order more because unbeknownst to me I mixed my silver embossing powder with my Prisma. Don’t get me wrong it will make my silver RAD looking. But now I need a real jar of it.
I was supposed to have a class last night but I had to cancel because of the HORRIBLE weather. Our guy didn’t come and plow until 9:30 @ night- real great. PLUS! the kids were home all day so the life was pretty much sucked out of me any way. Sofie was not happy that she was not going to GOMO. DO you know she has been calling school GOMO since she first started at age 3??? I figured out why. When her sister would go to school on Sofie’s day off she would FLIP her lid. So,I would try to comfort her and tell her that she would go to school tomorrow. SO she took go tomorrow and turned it into GOMO. It is so cute, but I wonder if she will be 30 and calling school Gomo. I will keep you posted!! What a life! Thank God she went to GOMO today!

Go Packers!!!

11 / 20 / 07

We had such an awesome time at the Packer game on Sunday. They kicked the Panther’s a** BIG TIME!! It was SO much fun. We were blessed to be invited by my sister in law, Beth and Chris, her husband. This was my 2nd time at a game and the whole time all I could think of was am I really at this game?? They made it look so easy and played so well!! It was great hanging out with them and just being goofy! What a killer thing to be able to see #4 do his thang!!

A BIG thanks to my mom and dad who watched the girls for us AND Aunty Brenda and the kids for taking our baby boy, Sawyer for the day! Otherwise, we wouldn’t have been there! My family is the best! I can’t wait to scrap these pictures so I don’t forget a single thing about the day!
